Greetings From Your President

Well that was hopefully the last cold blast of the year.. Brrr.. I think we
can all agree that February is the worst month to be a sportsman in South
Dakota. Pretty much left with ice fishing and its usually too cold for that
(for me at least). The good thing is that warmer weather is approaching and
I can get my feet wet in the streams very soon. Don't forget to apply for
your spring turkey tags. I can say I've seen some large numbers of turkeys
starting to group up which is always a good sign of warmer days.

The club has been very active in current legislative issues. If you have any
legislative issues you would like us to address please let us know. We are
currently working on the big sportsman's issues including the gun range bill
SB 175

Thanks to everyone who has renewed their memberships we need to keep growing
our numbers, hit up your buddies, old college roommates, hell even the guy
next door.

Hope to see everyone at the lunch meeting on the 1st this month!

Send us your hunting Pictures. We need to spice up the photos section.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR NEW INPUT FROM OUR MEMBERS!!

---

A big thanks from our speaker last week. Maggie and the Raptor Center perform such a great show with their awesome birds. It is very cool to see this project progress.
We will have another Maggie speak at the March meeting. She is the outdoor director at the club for boys and member of our club. She has that great passion the kids need.

There will also be an update on the gun range bill. It is currently getting debated on the senate floor this week and will then go before the house for debate if it passes. If it does not pass, the range will still move forward so it will require an update regardless

We are trying something new.    It is quite easy to use Survey Monkey and I think we use this tool often during the legislative session. PLEASE take the few seconds to complete the surveys (link attached below). You can always go to our website and contact any board member if you want to have further discussion on any of the issues we bring up in the surveys.  There will be links on our website, in our newsletters and on Facebook. Also feel free to contact us on anything you would like to see surveyed.
