Greetings From Your President
Im going to try and put a positive spin on last month as I was notified that I will not be elk hunting this fall.. I guess the only positive is that I am one more year closer to getting an elk tag.. yea that’s what I’m going with..

Who were the lucky ones this year? Anyone draw the CSP elk tag?

The rain has been fantastic the Hills are absolutely popping with color. The fish are biting in both the streams and lakes. Get out there before the heat sets in, you can thank me later.

We are doing one last push for membership renewals for 2023. Jump onto our website and renew.

Send us your hunting Pictures. We need to spice up the photos section.

Program Chair
Our speaker in June will be Megan Howell (third time will be a charm). She is the new executive director of the South Dakota Wildlife Federation and man, does she have a few challenges. It is important to attend our meeting as she wants to very much hear our thoughts. A big thanks to Mitch Richter to speaking to us last week on the legislative side of the SDWF. Our sportsmen voice at the at the GFP department and commission level is not what it used to be. The commission has little discussion and all votes have been unanimous. Zero petitions from the stakeholders have been accepted for proposal to even allow a discussion before finalization.   A 100% kill ratio. The trend is not good and sportsmen groups need to ban together to work on this. I wish I had some good answers moving forward. With Megan and every stakeholder in the state coming together, I am hopeful we can correct this trend. Bring some ideas to our next meeting please
