Greetings From Your PresidentHappy Holidays to all my fellow sportsmen and women! I hope everyone has some great food, great drinks and even better company planned.
Anyone been out there doing some late season hunting? Some of my favorite times of the season are with my bow in late December. Snuggled up in some warm clothes on a calm winter evening when the forest is quiet as it ever is… pretty enjoyable.
How about the ice report? I’ve been trying to find some time to get out and poke some holes but life is always happening for some reason.. maybe if I start seeing some photos of you guys and some fish I will change course. Let’s see those pictures!
It’s that time of year again where we are asking for everyone to get their dues paid for the year. I think there will be some very pressing legislation and commission issues this year and it’s extremely important that we have a large membership base to go to bat for the sportsmen and women.
You can pay your dues the old school way or just jump onto our webpage https://blackhillssportsmenclub.com/ and navigate to the membership page to pay.
Looking forward to meeting with the local legislators at the luncheon. Let’s have a great turnout!~Cody Hodson~

WE ARE LOOKING FOR NEW INPUT FROM OUR MEMBERS!!
This is a big meeting on Jan 7th. It is our annual legislative meeting where we talk about upcoming legislation. The big difference is that we will actually be having our legislators present this year. Attendance before our legislators is so very important. We will be setting up some extra tables. It looks as though we will have 10 or more west river legislators coming to our luncheon. We will do a quick 5 minute talk on who the Black Hills Sportsmen Club and then each legislator will get a few minutes to speak. If there is time at the end, we can ask some questions. This is more a meet and greet and we want to hear from them.
The Sportshow and Sale is Feb 14-16. We will be helping man the booth with the SDWF. Please plan on donating some hours to work and help us spread the word on who the BHSC and the SDWF are. There will be a sign up list at our Feb meeting.
We will are working on getting a date for the Hunt Film tour in 2025. We have some great films already put together but we need a few more. Please let me know if you have any good ideas. I hope to get a date for the Elk Theatre this week.
Elections for the BHSC board of directors will be at the Feb meeting. PLEASE let me know if you or someone you know may be interested. It has been a long time since we have had anyone new on the board. It is time for some fresh ideas. Any of our new members interested, if so please call me at 605-393-5225
