Greetings From Your President

February already??? Hopefully as the hunting season is winding down we all have added a few memories to bounce around in the ole echo chamber? I have had to reevaluate my definition of a successful hunting year as I for the most part went empty handed. But I have to say I had a great season and had a ton of fun.

As I’m sure you are all aware but the legislative season is in full swing and we have a few bills that are important to the group. I want to let you all know that we are actively working on these issues and would allows accept any input from the membership regarding any legislation that you feel affects the group. Let us know how you feel and we can pass those opinions on as a group. Power in numbers!

Its time to renew your memberships, take 5 minutes and logon to the website https://blackhillssportsmenclub.com/ renew with one of the options! That’s all there is too it.

Looking forward to see everyone at the luncheon.

Send us your hunting Pictures. We need to spice up the photos section.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR NEW INPUT FROM OUR MEMBERS!!

---

The Raptor Center will be coming to see us next week.    Maggie will be bring a bird or two.   This is always a very cool program and things have come a long way for them since we last met.   Do not miss out on this one next week!

Legislative report.
We will visit about some of these bills but for now, please take the time to go the LRC and read them.  The list is pretty short so far
HB 1048, 1049, 1072, 1090, 1112
SB   73
Building a 10 million dollar campground in the middle of elk habitat in CSP has become a big issue.  Lots of press and lots of people against.  A letter from our board of directors has been sent to the powers to be. Our club's mission is in support wildlife and its habitat.

The shooting complex bill will already have been seen in committee by the time we meet.   That does not mean there will be plenty of other  chances to provide input.   It will be a long process.

We are trying something new.    It is quite easy to use Survey Monkey and I think we use this tool often during the legislative session. PLEASE take the few seconds to complete the surveys (link attached below). You can always go to our website and contact any board member if you want to have further discussion on any of the issues we bring up in the surveys.  There will be links on our website, in our newsletters and on Facebook. Also feel free to contact us on anything you would like to see surveyed.
