Greetings From Your President

I don’t know about you guys but I sure hope December pans out like November did. Talk about great hunting, great weather, good food.. I think I’m still full. Spent several weekends down in Bennett county chasing deer (have to admit I was unsuccessful). We were able to spend a few days out looking for roosters and ended up with a few to make sure we didn’t go hungry.

I want to hear some stories and see some pictures? How was your November?

It was great to see some of you guys at the last luncheon and hope to see more of you at the next.

Don’t forget to purchase your preference points for any of the seasons you are collecting. The deadline is Dec 15th !

Send us your hunting Pictures. We need to spice up the photos section.

---

Everyone please spread the word that we are meeting again this month!

A big thanks to Lacy and her crew for coming last month. It sure lit a fire under me to help get the campus up and running again with bus loads of kids. I feel the campus is currently under utilized and under staffed and there is much to be done to start getting the public more involved in outdoor education.
Please consider volunteering at the campus and/or becoming a mentor. Information on this will be included in the newsletter (link attached at the end) and we will also be posting more events and classes in our newsletter. This month speaker will be the boys from Dakota Angler and Outfitter.
Fishing is always good in the Black Hills, particularly if you know how to fly fish. Even if you are just kind of good at it like Hanna there will still be plenty to learn at our next meeting.

I hope everyone has had a great hunting season. I had one of my best falls in deer hunting and I have yet to carry a gun. I was able to help 3 different kids get their first buck deer. Hard to explain the emotion unless you have done it. It also works with adults on their first hunts. I encourage everyone in our club to try and take someone under their wing and live this experience. I will be bow hunting deer in the Rapid City limits and I also have another state wide archery tag. I have a muzzleloader whitetail doe tag also. Along with some duck and goose hunts thrown in, December is looking good!
