Greetings From Your President
And here comes the heat! Wow As I’m writing this its about 100 Degrees outside… Good thing I’m not out there. It was great to see a bunch of you at the luncheon last month. We had a great meeting getting to hear from Kevin Robling about pressing issues. Several of us also were able to send some pressing issues back at the GFP! Kevin was a great sport!
The fishing has been excellent that’s about all I can say you have to get out there and get on or in the water its fantastic. Last weekend I spent a good 6 hours with my feet in the creek and didn’t spend much time between fish. I haven’t been on the lakes but have been getting great reports from several guys. A great way to get out and avoid the rally crowds is to hit the gravel roads and streams in the hills.
We have some great upcoming events coming soon as Jeff will talk about below, but we need to use these chances to help with building the club membership levels.

Please attend our meeting this month on August 2nd and bring a guest. Our speaker this month will be Gary English. A world famous hunter, taxidermist and film maker. Ok, maybe not all those things but he did have a film make the Hunting Film Tour the last two years. He has some amazing hunting stories to share with us next week.
My goal this program season is to get hunting, fishing and our door recreation "experts" to come and tell us stories and more "how to" presentations. We will still need to hear from the GFP and provide input to management but I hoping to shift a lot of those talks to our board of directors. So, if you have any entertaining ideas for speakers, please let me, I am also hoping this may get more young people involved in our club. Something we MUST get to work on.

Black Hills Sportsmen Club Social

Time: 6 to 8 pm
This social will be a garage and deck party. Appetizers and cocktails will be available.
PLEASE bring a guest and we will certainly push for new members. Invite some young adults who love the outdoors. I have already started a list for this.
